Clean Water, Bright Futures: Okachi Charity Foundation Transforms Port Harcourt Primary School in Port Harcourt, Nigeria with Borehole Donation

In Sagana, a vibrant community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, access to safe drinking water has long been a major challenge, particularly for the students of Sagana School. For years, these young learners relied on contaminated water sources, which led to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid fever. These health issues not only affected their well-being but also their ability to attend school regularly and concentrate on their studies.

Recognizing this critical need, the Okachi Charity Foundation decided to take action. With a mission to improve the lives of the underprivileged, the foundation installed a borehole water system at Sagana School, providing a reliable and safe water source for the students and staff.

The installation of the borehole was met with great anticipation and excitement. The once dusty and dry schoolyard now housed a modern borehole system, capable of delivering clean, fresh water throughout the day. This project was not just about providing water; it was about ensuring the health and future of Sagana’s students.

The availability of safe water drastically reduced the incidence of waterborne diseases among the students. Healthier students meant higher attendance rates and better academic performance. Teachers noted that students were more attentive and energetic, no longer plagued by frequent bouts of illness.

The borehole water donation by the Okachi Charity Foundation has transformed Sagana School into a model of health and educational excellence. The students, now healthier and more focused, are better equipped to achieve their academic goals and pursue their dreams. This project stands as a testament to the power of compassion and the profound impact that access to clean water can have on a community’s future.

The Okachi Charity Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to all the donors, volunteers, and community members who made this project possible. Together, we have brought hope and opportunity to the students of Sagana School, and we look forward to continuing our mission to bring positive change to more communities in need.
