Okachi Charity Foundation Menstrual Hygiene Education & Pad Distribution Outreach – World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025

Location: Sango Junior Secondary School (Inclusive), Opposite Agege Stadium, Sango, Agege, Lagos

Introduction

At Okachi Charity Foundation (OCF), we believe that menstruation should never be a barrier to education, dignity, or potential. In celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, we proudly partnered with Karis and Eleos Foundation to deliver a deeply impactful outreach event at Sango Junior Secondary School, Lagos.

Our engagement in this outreach reflects our growing annual campaign to close the menstrual equity gap in Nigeria’s public schools ensuring no girl has to choose between attending class or managing her period in silence.
This initiative was more than a moment it was a movement. Through education, resource distribution, and community engagement

Why We Engaged: The Heart Behind the Mission

In too many communities, menstruation is treated as a secret, a source of shame, or worse a reason to miss school. For girls in underserved areas, a lack of access to sanitary products and accurate menstrual education often leads to academic setbacks, emotional distress, and lifelong gender disparity.

Annual Commitment & Strategic Vision

OCF has, over the years, remained a consistent voice in menstrual advocacy. Every year, we distribute over 1,000 sanitary pads across public schools either directly through our programs or in strategic collaboration with trusted partners.

This year’s outreach marked not just another milestone, but the beginning of a powerful new chapter: collaboration.
2025 stands as the inaugural year of our formal partnerships with fellow foundations, a step we believe will amplify impact, broaden reach, and foster sustainable change.

Partnering with Karis and Eleos Foundation was nothing short of inspiring. Together, we delivered a seamless, respectful, and inclusive experience for every girl who attended.

Looking ahead, we are scaling our commitment:
By 2026, OCF pledges to distribute over 2,000 sanitary pads, reaching more girls, deeper communities, and underserved schools across at least five states.
